The final event in our off the beaten track trail run series is worth the wait and is one not to miss! Prepare to hit the ground running as you face demanding climbs and steep descents and some technical sections.

Mackay’s biggest bike ride is back in 2026. The BMA River 2 Reef Ride Festival is an event that unites the community over two great days. There is an event for every rider:

The Golding Kids Colour Ride is a fun and exciting ride for kids. Kids will have a great (and safe) time on their wheels lapping the Mackay Botanic Gardens with much-loved and exciting colour hits along the way. The event is part of the annual BMA River 2 Reef Ride Festival, raising monies for up to 30 Mackay sporting clubs and community groups.

Embark on an exhilarating off the beaten track trail run in Finch Hatton, where you'll be captivated by the spectacular scenery deep within the MTB Trails. A once-a-year opportunity to run the iconic MTB Trails.

Feel the thrill as you navigate the historic rainforest trails, surrounded by the vibrant hues of nature's tapestry. Be captivated by the ever-changing vistas that unfold before your eyes.

ZACH MACH Adventure Challenge’s little sibling the MINI MACH is a great race to get out into the Pioneer Valley, cruising between cane paddocks, dipping your toes (ok maybe your body) in Cattle Creek, completing mystery challenges along the way before riding your MTB through the maze to the MINI MACH Adventure Challenge finish line, yew! All this fun will be completed in about an hour. For ages 7yrs and up, this race includes prize money and prizes and will have adults racing alongside kids (who are really really fast both on the bike and on their feet so watch out!). The laughs and smiles of all those competing around you is infectious so get amongst it.

A beloved event for adventure enthusiasts across the country, ZACH MACH Adventure Challenge inspires and challenges athletes of all ages and abilities. Participate in the trail run segment of this 90km ZACH MACH course in the heart of Mackay’s beautiful Finch Hatton. These trails can only be run on this one day of the year thanks to the permission of local farmers and property owners. With prize money up for grabs and camping onsite, it's time to embrace the challenge.

Moranbah’s Australia Day Celebrations will begin with a free fun triathlon at 6.30am. There is prize money in each category and registration is FREE!

Join us at the Mackay Aquatic and Recreation Centre (MARC) for a Kids Aquathlon & Triathlon for ages 5-12 years on Sunday 14 December 2025.

No prior Aquathlon or Triathlon experience is required. This is a non-competitive event. Kids just need to be able to complete their age group distance in each leg.
