On Sunday 27 September, we are bringing the entire female community together for a morning of pure celebration. Whether you are 7 years old or in your fabulous 70s, SHE TRIs is built for YOU.
Every single distance across the morning is completely non-competitive. Throw the timer away, leave the ego at home, and just revel in the energy of moving your body alongside a crowd of women who are there purely to support each other.
The courses are short, gentle, and held 100% off open roads inside the MARC pool and flat university precinct. Splash, pedal, walk, jog, or cheer your heart out.
Round up your girl squad - your daughters, sisters, workmates and closest friends. Come revel in the sunshine, the giggles, and the finish line pride.

Make sure you or your team are registered online;
Check out the maps to review the course;
Check your bike is in good working order: tyres are inflated, chain is in good working order and that your brakes are working;
Practice putting shoes on, putting a shirt on and buckling up your helmet with wet feet and hands a few times - elastic shoelaces or Velcro sneakers makes transition easy;
-
• Pack the night before;
• Check your equipment:
• Goggles fit;
• Bike tyres are pumped up;
• Bike chain is clean and on properly;
• Helmet fits perfectly – every rider must wear an Australian Standard helmet;
• Fill up water bottles;

• Sneakers match and packed.

Transition will be set up in the MARC carpark between the pool and the running track. All solo and team competitors will select a spot in this dedicated area to set up their bikes, helmets, shoes, hats, water bottles etc.
One spot per solo and one spot per team. Bikes must be racked and all of your loose items placed beside your bike prior to event start.
All athletes are required to keep their individual transition area neat and tidy at all times.
BIKE TRANSITION:
Helmet goes on first prior to unracking your bike
Run alongside your bike holding the handlebars or seat until you get to the “mount line”
Do not mount your bike until you get to the “mount line” (this will be signed and volunteers will be on course to assist)
Upon returning to transition at the end of the bike course dismount your bike at the signed “dismount” area and run your bike back to your transition spot, rack your bike first and then remove your helmet

The swim course is in the MARC 50m pool. Every person swimming must be able to swim their allocated distance unassisted - they do not need to be fast, they just need to be capable. We will have Tri-ActiV8 volunteers as pool marshals ensuring the safety of everyone.
The Swim Course:
Kids Tri - 1 lap (100m - 2 lengths)
Dash - 1 x “M” (200m - 4 lengths)
Enduro - 2 x “M” (400m - 8 lengths)
-
The bike course is completely off-road and inside the safety of the university carpark. Be sure to ease into your ride, don’t go too hard too soon, maintain your composure and speed:
Be cautious and safe on the bike course at all times;
Stay to the left at all times on the bike course (unless overtaking);
When overtaking – it is encouraged that you tell the rider in front of them that you are going to pass them (eg say “passing”) – pass and then move back to the left of the path;
Being passed - you must maintain the same speed so the rider can pass and move back to the left side of the path;
If you need to stop, pull off on the left side of the path/course;
If your chain falls off or a tyre goes flat on the course – do not panic – we will have a volunteer rider who will assist you and get you back in the fun.
Laps of the Course:
Kids Tri Distance - 1 lap (2.5km)
Dash - 2 laps (5km)
Enduro - 4 laps (10km)
-
The bike to run is tough for new triathletes. Even good runners struggle to run well after riding. The last stages of the triathlon run are mentally and physically difficult. With a swim in the arms and a bike ride in the legs, finishing off the run will test your little ones to push through.
Run Course:
Kids Tri Distance - 2 laps of the track (800m)
Dash - University paths and around the tartan track to finish! (1.6km)
Enduro - 2 X laps of the University paths and around the tartan track to finish! (3.2km)
-
The transition area is your hub. Pick a spot in the transition area for your team to set up. The team members who are not swimming will be located at your transition spot ready to go when the swimmer has finished the swim leg.
A simple hand tap is all that is required when switching from one team member to the next amongst the 3 disciplines of swim | bike | run.
The next leg of the triathlon cannot start until the team member has completed the one prior. Eg the bike leg can’t start until the person swimming has completed the swim and arrived at the transition area.
If the person riding is not doing the swim leg, they can have their helmet and shoes on ready. The swimmer must hand tap the bike rider before the bike rider can un-rack their bike.
The runner cannot start the run leg until the bike rider has returned, placed their bike on the rack and hand tapped the runner.
